On Oct. 22, 2013, Joe Jonas sent out a tweet asking fans to hold on while he, Nick and Kevin Jonas figure some things out. Years later, on Feb. 28, the world finally heard the words “thank you for holding.”

The comeback of the Jonas Brothers—Joe, Nick and Kevin—and the release of their new single “Sucker” on March 1 has many fans on the edge of their seats to see the future of the band and what is to come for the trio.

Although the brothers carried success on their own, the return of the Jonas Brothers will carry great success in the future because of their strong fan-base and constant cheerful tonality.

The music video for “Sucker” features the three brothers and their respective partners. The lavish setting is a mansion-like home which shows great indulgence and luxury during the band’s performance in the video. The use of these extravagant features welcomes the band back in a big way and grabs the audience to rejoice in their return.

The song itself follows a similar pattern to many other Jonas Brothers’ songs with a catchy chorus and upbeat tempo while sounding as if it came out with the other songs in the early 2000s. With these qualities, “Sucker” will soon be among the ranks of other Jonas Brothers’ hits including “Burnin’ Up” and “Year 3000.”

Both the nostalgia of the 2000s icons and the rush of the band’s first release in over five years stands as exciting as fans expected. The song carries a familiar tone that will help “Sucker” transcend the years like the Jonas Brothers’ past hits while reminding listeners everywhere of the music filled past.

The Jonas Brothers’ careers began with the release of “Mandy” in 2005 as their first song. Following its release, the band grew in popularity and released four albums: “It’s About Time” (2005), “Jonas Brothers” (2007), “A Little Bit Longer” (2008) and “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times” (2009). The three were also featured in the Disney Channel Original movies “Camp Rock” (2008) and “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” (2010) as Shane, Nate and Jason Gray, respectively.

The groups Disney Channel careers continued on the TV show “Jonas” (2009-2010). At the same time, Joe, Nick and Kevin starred in the reality TV show “Jonas Brothers: Living The Dream” (2008-2010).

In 2013, the Jonas Brothers’ last song, “Pom Poms” was released as a single; however, after its release, the band disassembled, and each brother started his own career.

Joe Jonas released the album “Fastlife” (2011) before joining the band DNCE with Cole Whittle, JinJoo Lee and Jack Lawless. DNCE released the self-titled album “DNCE” (2016), which included the hit song “Cake By The Ocean.” Today, Joe is engaged to actress Sophie Turner as well.

His brother Nick released “Who am I?” (2010), the self-titled album “Nick Jonas X2” (2015) and “Last Year Was Complicated” (2016). Nick Jonas became known for his hit songs “Jealous” and “Chains.” More recently, in 2018, Nick married actress Priyanka Chopra.

The final brother, Kevin Jonas, has not released any musical albums since the band’s separation. Instead, Kevin married Danielle Deleasa. The two were then featured on the TV show “Married to Jonas” from 2012-2013. Today, the couple has two daughters.

After a five-year hiatus, the Jonas Brothers have decided to make a comeback and have announced the release of the song “Sucker.”

The announcement for “Sucker” occurred with a teaser for Carpool Karaoke from the “Late Late Show with James Corden” and the recreation of a viral video where Joe Jonas says “oh, how the tables have turned” while physically turning a table. In the publications, the brothers make it known that the song, as well as a music video, would be released on March 1.

Fans waited on hold for five years and, now, cannot wait to see what Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas have coming out in the future as a band again.
