Walpole Girls and Boys Cross Country faced Norwood and Brookline at Coakley Middle School on Sept. 13. Both Walpole teams opened their season 1-1 by defeating Norwood but losing to Brookline.  Senior Danielle Borelli finished second and junior Caroline McGrath finished fourth for the girls.  Additionally, sophomore Shane Grant and senior Sebastian Almer were top competitors for the boys.  Both Cross Country teams start off their seasons 1-1.  “Our first meet went well for the most part, we had some injuries that contributed to our loss against Brookline, but individuals on the team really pulled through for us. We are definitely looking forward to our next meet,” said senior Dana Demartino after the meet. The next Cross Country meet is Monday, Sept. 18 at 3:45 in Newton North versus Framingham, Newton North, and Wellesley.
